While Manchester United continue to sweat over the future of David de Gea, they have been keeping an eye on Dominik Livakovic as a potential replacement.

The Croatian currently plays for Dinamo Zagreb, and a United scout was in the crowd to watch him keep a clean sheet against Rosenborg on Thursday, according to The Sun.

The 24-year-old would reportedly cost between £15million and £20million to sign.

Other teams, including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been keeping tabs on Livakovic.

He was one of the options to bring in as back-up to Alisson Becker, but Liverpool ended up signing Adrian on a free transfer instead.

Livakovic has been promoted to the number one goalkeeper for Croatia ahead of Danijel Subasic, and has been part of a Dinamo Zagreb team which has won the title twice in a row.

David de Gea's current contract at Manchester United runs out at the end of the season, and is yet to sign the new one that's on the table.

United learned last week that he could wait until as late as January to sign the £350,000-a-week contract.

This summer they triggered a clause in his contract enabling them to extend his deal by another year, but they won't have that option next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are among the teams interesting in his services, and de Gea could start to agree pre-contract terms with another club in January.
