Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes Felix Nmecha could be in for an expensive transfer this summer.

Nmecha has been linked with the likes of United and Real Madrid this summer, while his performances for Germany at the World Cup have fuelled rumours.

The 25-year-old scored six goals and provided three assists in 47 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season, his third campaign for the club.

He joined Dortmund from Wolfsburg in 2023, having previously represented Manchester City at academy level.

Nmecha was particularly impressive in Germany's World Cup win over Ivory Coast, and Neville lauded the midfielder's display.

"The more he plays like he did [against Ivory Coast], the more expensive he’ll get," Neville told ITV.

"He looked outstanding. It looked like he had absolutely everything."

United are reportedly close to signing another midfielder in Ederson, while they have also been linked with Real Madrid's Tchouameni.

The Red Devils will start their first full season under Michael Carrick with a trip to newly-promoted Hull City on August 22, with their first home fixture against another promoted side in Ipswich Town a week later.
