Man Utd to pay Wan-Bissaka to force through double Bayern Munich transfer deal

Manchester United will hand Aaron Wan-Bissaka a seven-figure payout to make sure of his move to West Ham.

Former Crystal Palace star Wan-Bissaka is poised to join West Ham in a deal worth £15m. His exit will free up space and funds for United to make a couple of signings of their own, after the Red Devils agreed terms for Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

The right-back is understood to be on around £90,000 per week at Old Trafford, with West Ham unprepared to match that sum. As first reported by the MEN, a £5.6m pay off is set to address the shortfall and ensure Wan-Bissaka's exit.

De Ligt and Mazraoui are expected to cost United north of £50m combined. The pair will be reunited with Erik ten Hag, who managed both men at former club Ajax.

United triggered a one-year extension in Wan-Bissaka's contract last January, allowing them to cash in this summer rather than losing him for nothing. However, with Diogo Dalot making the right-back spot his own, they're now sanctioning an exit.

Wan-Bissaka will become West Ham's eighth summer signing under new manager Julen Lopetegui. Jean-Clair Todibo became number seven when he joined from Nice on Saturday, following Luiz Guilherme, Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez.

“It is a dream come true to play in the Premier League, the best league in the world," said Todibo, who was also linked with Manchester United. “This is an amazing opportunity for me, at a Club with huge ambition, who want to really make progress under the new Head Coach."

Erik ten Hag wasn't able to get his two new signings wrapped up in time for the Community Shield against Manchester City on Saturday. New defender Leny Yoro missed out entirely through injury, but Joshua Zirkzee - United's first summer signing - started on the bench.

Ten Hag has also shaken up his coaching staff, with Ruud van Nistelrooy among those brought on board. "They have new ideas, they bring a new dynamic for us and it is good to improve," the manager said of the new additions.

When asked about the upcoming season, he said: "I'm always excited. The future. You start on zero, you have to prove yourself for a season. You want to win again, you want to make a next step so it is a lot about moving forward."

United begin their Premier League season at home to Fulham on August 16. They will be out for an improvement on last season, where an eighth-place finish left them needing an FA Cup final win to salvage European football.
