Erik ten Hag's Manchester United have been busy in pre-season as they aim to improve on last season's eighth-place Premier League finish.

It's the first summer transfer window with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in charge of football affairs, and United have already been splashing the cash. Joshua Zirkzee has joined from Bologna, with Leny Yoro following in a big-money move from Lille.

Ten Hag's side have been given an injury scare with Yoro forced off in a pre-season friendly against Arsenal, with two games to follow during theri pre-season tour of the United States. They're up against Real Betis on Wednesday, with a match against Liverpool on the way three days later.

Before the end of that tour, United might be able to celebrate a third summer signing. Here are Mirror Football's latest lines from around Old Trafford.

Manchester United are prepared to let Christian Eriksen leave Old Trafford for under £5million, according to Caught Offside. The Danish international is in the final year of his contract and is not expected to extend his stay in England.

Anderlecht and Ajax have both been linked with a move for the former Tottenham and Brentford man. The 32-year-old made 28 appearances in all competitions for United last term, scoring just once.

Eriksen played 45 minutes from the bench in United's last pre-season friendly against Arsenal. United were beaten 2-1, but the game ended in a penalty shoot-out which they won.

West Ham and Manchester United remain in talks for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky Sports. The Hammers have renewed their interest in the right-back after failing to close a deal for Noussair Mazraoui, who now looks to be Old Trafford-bound.

Wan-Bissaka joined United in 2019, in a £50m move from Crystal Palace. However, with just a year left on his current deal, he could be available for just £15m.

Inter Milan and Galatasaray have also been linked with the right-back. The 26-year-old played 30 times last season as Ten Hag dealt with an injury crisis at the back.

Raphael Varane has officially joined Como, nearly a month after leaving Manchester United. The centre-back, a World Cup and Champions League winner, has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third.

“At first, I was curious to find out what the project was all about, and then I immediately saw that it was special, different from any other I’d been offered, so I wanted to know more," Varane said after linking up with the Serie A team, who are managed by Cesc Fabregas "The more I learned about the project, the more interesting it became, giving me a different perspective on what I wanted to do.

"Once the project came along, it went straight to the top of the list, and we managed to close the deal. I’m very happy. There’s a lot to do, and it’s very exciting. I have a lot of experience at the highest level, and now to be able to share that knowledge and help a club build itself up and hopefully reach the top is super exciting."
