Manchester United have been linked with a number of players this month but it is unlikely that they will make any major signings in January.
They have confirmed the addition of Amad Diallo from Atalanta but he is expected to be the only new face to arrive at Old Trafford before the summer.
Instead, a number of outgoings are still likely before the window slams shut, with several fringe players expected to join Timothy Fosu-Mensah in leaving the club.
The likes of Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Facundo Pellistri and Brandon Williams have been linked with either loan or permanent moves and here are the latest transfer rumours coming out of Old Trafford.
Dortmund 'relying' on Sancho sale
United's unsuccessful pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho dominated the summer, with the Bundesliga side holding out for an offer of £108m for the England international.
United did not meet their asking price and Sancho stayed put at Dortmund but the Red Devils have maintained their interest in the winger.
According to Sport1, United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Sancho, with Dortmund reportedly expecting to make losses of £88m as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As a result, the report claims Dortmund are 'relying' on the sale of Sancho in the summer to help them financially but it is unlikely that a club will meet the £108m asking price and they may be forced to lower their demands.
West Ham eye Lingard move
Jesse Lingard has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this month, with Sheffield United, West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United all mooted as potential destinations for the 28-year-old.
However, are report from the Daily Mail, which adds West Ham United have joined the race, with manager David Moyes keen on a reunion with the midfielder.
The report claims that West Ham could pursue a permanent transfer for Lingard, with other clubs preferring a loan move.
Pellistri's loan options
Winger Facundo Pellistri is expected to leave on loan this month, with a switch to a La Liga club considered the most likely move.
The Athletic claims that United do not want Pellistri to join a Championship side because there are concerns that he is not yet ready for the physicality of the league, having moved to England around four months ago.
The report adds that Celta Vigo have expressed a 'firm interest' in the 21-year-old.
