According to the latest update from team reporter Samuel Luckhurst, although Onana will return to Trabzonspor on loan, Man United have made it clear that Rashford will not be loaned out for an entire season.
Both Rashford's and Onana's contracts expire in 2028, but the winger's transfer value is far higher than that of the frequently error-prone goalkeeper Onana. Barcelona's decision to forgo a £26 million permanent move for Rashford left Man United in a difficult negotiating position and came as a major surprise to everyone at the club, especially after Barcelona then spent £69 million to sign another English left winger, Gordon.
Rashford's poor performance in England's narrow victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo is also likely to diminish other teams' interest in signing him, although some teams may still try to make an offer later in the transfer window.
Rashford's loan to Barcelona last July was prompted only by Williams' contract renewal with Athletic Bilbao and Luis Diaz's transfer to Bayern.
