Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts has joined Championship side Middlesbrough for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

Roberts spent the second half of last season with Boro after being recalled from his loan at Norwich City due to a lack of matches.

He made seven appearances for Middlesbrough last season and scored one goal and is expected to be ready to face league leaders Reading this weekend.

Boro is the fourth club that Roberts has been loaned out to since signing for City in 2015 from Fulham.

The winger has previously played for Celtic, Girona and Norwich before his pro-longed move to the North East.

Neil Warnock has been dealt an injury blow following Ashley Fletcher's absence, with just Britt Assombalonga and Chuba Akpom as their other attacking options.

Elsewhere, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has become the subject of interest from Inter Milan as he enters the final year of his contract.

The Serie A side are hopeful they can seal the Argentine on a free transfer and are willing to offer a two-year deal, according to Calcio Mercato.
