Manchester United and Chelsea will both look to sign Lille striker Jonathan David this summer according to reports.

David has played a pivotal role in Lille's success this season, with the club on course to secure European football under Paulo Fonseca.

The Canadian forward currently sits second in the Ligue 1 scoring charts, having netted 21 times in 30 starts with four assists for Les Dogues.

During his inaugural season with Lille, David starred as Christophe Galtier led the club to an unlikely triumph in Ligue 1, besting PSG's star-studded side by a single point on the final day of the season.

The former Gent star is also an experienced international, having scored 24 goals in 40 appearances for Canada, and was part of the side that secured the nation's first World Cup appearance since 1986 last year.

According to L'Equipe, United, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all interested in bringing the US-born 23-year-old to the Premier League this summer.

David has previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with the club having monitored the starlet during his breakout season in the Belgian top flight with Gent, and again earlier this season following Canada's World Cup exit.

Chelsea meanwhile remain on the hunt for a forward to lead their line following a dismal Premier League season.

Despite Todd Boehly's massive investment in his squad both over the summer and in January, the club are among the lowest-scorers in the league this season, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looking set to depart the club just 12 months after arriving at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham could also prove a possible destination for David, particularly if Harry Kane leaves the club this summer in search of a new challenge.
