Zinedine Zidane has asked Real Madrid to buy Sadio Mane — but Liverpool have no interest in selling the forward.
Mane has come to the fore in recent games for the Reds, scoring against Burnley and Fulham to keep their title hopes alive and also striking in the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
And Zidane, who returned to Real Madrid as manager earlier this month, is keen to bring the Senegal international to the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to Marca, Mane has been aware of interest from the Spanish giants since the summer.
The interest in the 26-year-old has grown amid his current run of form and following his record of 53 goals and 21 assists in 111 matches for Liverpool.
Even so, Real would struggle to prise Mane away from Liverpool.
According to Mail, Jurgen Klopp has no intention of letting one of his most important players leave Anfield any time soon.
There are also no clauses in Mane's contract which would present Real with an opportunity to buy him without Liverpool's approval.
Mane is currently away with Senegal over the international break and featured as they beat Madagascar. He is likely to play on Tuesday when they take on Mali.
Liverpool and Mane will take on Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday in their first game after the break.
