Real Madrid beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 on Wednesday to secure their place in the last 16 of the Champions League, which has put an end to some of the doubts surrounding Zinedine Zidane.
It seemed as though the Frenchman was on the brink of the sack after losing away to Shakhtar Donetsk last week, but a win against Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan and a victory at home to Gladbach has cooled things down ahead of the Madrid derby against Atletico on Saturday night.
Karim Benzema's first-half brace against Gladbach sent Real Madrid on their way towards the three points, while Lucas Vazquez looked excellent at right-back once again. Then, in midfield, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric rolled back the years by putting in a vintage display.
"Zidane, we know, he has more lives than a cat," Manolo Lama told COPE.
