Marc Cucurella is set to complete his move to Brighton in the coming hours in a deal worth 18 million euros.
The 23-year-old is now set to bring his spell at Getafe to an end after the English club activated his release clause, as reported by Cadena COPE and confirmed by MARCA, in a deal that will be the largest sale in Los Azulones' history.
The former Barcelona player arrived at Getafe in the summer of 2019, having spent the previous season on loan at Eibar.
Cucurella has made 75 appearances for Getafe and his development at the club culminated in his selection for Spain's squad for this summer's Tokyo Olympics, where he won a silver medal.
Despite being linked with a move to Sevilla, Cucurella will instead join Graham Potter's Brighton.
Barcelona will earn 1.8m euros from the transfer, having secured a clause in the deal through which they are entitled to 10 percent of a future sale.
