Marca: Fer López strongly requests return to Celta Vigo

According to Marca, Fer López's return to Celta is taking shape. The player could be back in Vigo shortly, barely six months after signing for Wolverhampton. The winter transfer window enters its final third, and Celta is pushing, although the negotiation is not yet closed.

Fer López joined Wolves from Celta Vigo for €25 million last summer (2025), but he has struggled for form at Molineux.

So far this season, López has made 12 appearances for Wolves across all competitions, starting only 4 times, failing to score a single goal, and providing just one assist.

Wolves' situation in the Premier League this season has also been disastrous. After 22 rounds, they sit bottom of the table with just 8 points, already 14 points adrift of Nottingham Forest, who are on the relegation line.

Under these circumstances, Fer López has strongly demanded a return to Celta Vigo. Celta, aware of López's wishes, are currently in negotiations with Wolves to discuss a loan deal for the player's return.

Celta has sold Luca de la Torre, Tadeo Allende, and Fran Beltrán, while loaning out Damián Rodríguez during this winter window, leaving them with ample space to re-sign Fermín López.
