Manchester City will face Liverpool away from home. Ahead of the match, Maresca told Sky Sports that the team's morale is high and that despite the challenging away environment, they will give their all to win.
You said in Friday's press conference: "Whether it's sunny or stormy, we have to get our job done." In such a difficult and special environment, do you think the team's mentality is ready? Do you think the current emotional state is right for this match?
Yes, absolutely. I think, as you said, the morale is good and the mentality is also good. Now it's finally time for the match to start.
I've been looking forward to this game. How is the team's cohesion? How important is that today?
Very important. You know, the connection between the players and the fans... Everyone knows we're playing away, it's a complex environment, and the stadium is challenging, but we'll do our best to win the match.
I have to ask: how was the team's arrival? Because there were some concerns beforehand. The images I saw looked quite calm. Was everything smooth?
Yes, honestly, everything went fine.
Obviously you're happy with the team's performance on the pitch, but you also said on Friday that there are still areas where the team can improve. What specific areas need work?
Many areas. We only started two months ago, so our defense can be better, our offense can be better, our organization can be better. We have many areas to improve, but slowly we'll get better and better.
Regarding this match, what kind of game do you expect today? Also, how important is O'Riley's return? Perhaps he can help the team control the pace of the game.
It's always important to have O'Riley available; he does very well in that position. However, we also have different options. As for the match itself, you know, playing away is always an intense affair.
