Mason Mount sent brutally honest contract advice as Chelsea given Sadio Mane transfer ultimatum

Chelsea are in for a busy summer transfer window with Mason Mount linked with an exit and Sadio Mane said to be eyeing a Premier League return

Former Chelsea ace Oscar has encouraged Mason Mount to find a new club this summer if he’s not happy. The 24-year-old midfielder faces an increasingly uncertain future at Stamford Bridge, with his contract set to expire in 12 months.

The England international is not among the top earners at Cobham despite chalking up nearly 200 appearances for the club. With Mauricio Pochettino expected to replace Frank Lampard this summer, football.london understands that the Argentine is an admirer of Mount and he could sway the midfielder's decision.

With a decision yet to be made over his future, Oscar has encouraged Mount to leave if he's not happy. Speaking on talkSPORT, the Brazil international said: "I think when you have a difficult season, not only for Mount but for the team, it’s hard to talk about the players.

"When you have a difficult season, a lot of people think that the players don’t deserve to stay in the team anymore. But I think Chelsea have a lot of good young players.

"Sometimes it’s better to keep these players and see if the coach wants these players for the team. Maybe he [Mount] can come back to play at the level that he can play at.

"Of course, he wants to play and he wants to play more. I think if he’s not happy at Chelsea, sometimes it’s better to find another team. If he’s still happy and if he wants to try and be a great player at Chelsea, he needs to stay."

With Chelsea in need of firepower to bolster their frontline, Sadio Mane has been linked with a move to west London. But, Gabby Agbonlahor doesn't think he would fit the Blues' style of play.

"I don’t like the way it hasn’t worked for him in Germany," the former Aston Villa striker told Football Insider. "They do say that the grass isn’t always greener, and maybe the Premier League suited him a bit more.

"The directness of Liverpool suited him, and maybe at Bayern they don’t play that way. I think he should come back to the Premier League.

"But if he goes to Chelsea, they’ll have to change their style of play. At the moment they like to pass, pass, pass. If they change that, it could be a really good signing. But their style at the moment won’t suit Mane."
