Scott McTominay has credited physiotherapist David Binningsley for helping him return to action ahead of schedule.

The Manchester United midfielder has not played for the Red Devils since damaging his knee ligaments against Newcastle on Boxing Day.

But McTominay is now working hard in Marbella during United's winter break in order to be fit for his side's clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on February 17.

The Scotland international told United's official website: 'Yeah, I have been working with Dave - or Binners, as we call him - and he has been top drawer.

'He has been anything that I have needed. He has just got me out of the house and stuff like that.

'Anything that I have ever wanted, he has been there and obviously through my recovery he has been an absolute blessing. He has been top drawer.'

Binningsley joined from Sunderland in the summer of 2018 where he was also a physiotherapist.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will also owe Binningsley a big thank you as his side have only won two of their six league matches in McTominay's absence - losing three times.

They also crashed out of the Carabao Cup to rivals Manchester City at the semi-final stage.
