Arsenal finally have their man after getting a deal for Riccardo Calafiori over the line - but the Gunners are unlikely to stop there.
Mikel Arteta's side came agonisingly close to toppling Manchester City for the second successive year and will be determined to go one better in the Premier League title race next season. To do that, more new faces are needed.
After bolstering his defence with the acquisition of Calafiori, Arteta is understood to want a new midfielder and another attacker in through the door. And with the transfer deadline now just a month away, Arsenal are likely to move fast.
Here, Mirror Football takes a look at what Arsenal are likely to do next in the market ahead of their season opener against Wolves...
Mikel Merino
Midfield reinforcements are a priority for Arsenal heading into the new season and at 28 years of age, Merino would represent a change in strategy from the Gunners.
The Spain international may be a slightly different profile to Arsenal's usual transfer targets, but he would bring a wealth of experience to Arteta's squad, including the know-how and nous from his recent Euro 2024 triumph.
Merino is now inside the final year of his contract at Real Sociedad and Arsenal are expected to bid for the playmaker imminently.
Nico Williams
Like Merino, Williams impressed for Spain at Euro 2024 - and Arsenal want him to join his international team-mate in the Premier League.
The Gunners are in the market for attacking reinforcements and Williams, 22, fits the bill. He is a wanted man, though, with Barcelona also tracking the Athletic Bilbao star, who is thought to favour staying in La Liga.
Regardless of Williams' desire to stay in Spain, Arsenal could test his resolve in the coming weeks with an enticing offer to star in their Premier League title bid.
Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal missed out on a deal for Benjamin Sesko earlier this summer, but if Arteta decides he does want a new No.9, then Gyokeres is likely to be of interest.
The former Coventry City goal machine has been in inspired form since joining Sporting Lisbon last summer and has been heavily linked with the Gunners in recent months.
Gyokeres plundered 43 goals in 50 games last term and would likely cost a minimum of £80million - but if Arteta decides he does want a new out-and-out striker, Gyokeres looks like the play.
Dan Bentley
David Raya has been signed permanently but Arsenal are in the market for another goalkeeper with Aaron Ramsdale expected to depart.
That has led them to Bentley, who is inside the final year of his contract with Wolves. Talks over a deal for the 31-year-old have been ongoing and if Arsenal want him then it shouldn't be a difficult deal to do.
But their opening offer of £50k left their Premier League rivals bemused - they value him closer to the £1million mark - and it remains to be seen if Arsenal are willing to head that high for the ex-Brentford and Bristol City man.
