Middlesbrough are battling it out with Cardiff City for Wigan Athletic striker Kieffer Moore.
The Wales international, who turned 28 on Saturday, is the subject of bids from both clubs and is taking time to consider his decision following the Latics' relegation to League One.
Moore - who scored 10 goals in the Championship last season - has turned down offers from QPR and Millwall who were also interested.
Moore's Wigan teammate Joe Gelhardt is expected to finalise his £900,000 move to Leeds on Monday.
Middlesbrough are also keen on Cardiff winger Junior Hoilett and Tottenham midfielder Luke Amos, who is wanted at QPR also where he spent last year on loan.
Hoilett has one year remaining on his current deal and was a regular for the Welsh outfit last season.
It would be the third time he's played under Neil Warnock following spells at QPR and in the Welsh capital.
