Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw is a loan target for Championship rivals Derby, Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Forshaw has not started a game in the Championship this season, having moved to Teesside from Wigan for £2million in January.
Aitor Karanka is not keen to let him leave on loan but others are likely to test the Boro boss before the transfer window closes next week.
Forshaw's ability is well-known at Brentford where he played for more than two years having joined them from Everton.
He was integral to their promotion from League One before leaving Griffin Park for Wigan, last summer
Wolves are also interested and Derby manager Paul Clement views him as a possible replacement for England U21 midfielder Will Hughes, who has been ruled out for at least six months out after damaging knee ligaments.
Clement has also had a £3million bid for Huddersfield midfielder Jacob Butterfield rejected.
