Milan and Liverpool had scouts watching Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali last night, joining Roma and Inter for the €30m-rated teen.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, representatives from both the San Siro and Anfield giants were in the stands for the 4-4 Serie B draw with Spezia on Sunday evening.
The 18-year-old has been nicknamed the ‘new Andrea Pirlo,’ but himself insists he has very different characteristics.
Like Pirlo, he came up through the Brescia academy and is already a regular for his club, contributing two goals and five assists in 19 Serie B games this season.
Tonali has not even played at Under-21 level yet, but did get a call-up to the senior Italy squad by Roberto Mancini for training.
Brescia had confirmed Roma were in negotiations, so Liverpool and Milan are now trying to get back in the race.
