Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola insists he cannot speak about the Manchester United midfielder's future because of the backlash he faces.
The Italian agent dropped a bombshell on United in December when he claimed the France World Cup winner's time at Old Trafford was 'over'.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was among those to hit back at Raiola and insisted that he should understand that football is a team sport, with the agent's comments coming just before a crunch Champions League tie against RB Leipzig.
Pogba has consistently been linked with a move to former club Juventus - who sold him for £89million in 2016 - as well as LaLiga champions Real Madrid.
Now speaking to Tutto Mercato Web, Raiola said he will not speak about the 27-year-old's future at United following links to his former club, because it causes nervousness from some circles, and also wished for the player 'to be left alone' too.
'Paul Pogba to Juventus? I can't speak about Pogba because people are nervous, they don't sleep at night,' Raiola said. 'I have to work quietly... If I speak, someone gets offended'.
'Pogba must also be left alone. When I speak people get nervous, they don't sleep at night, so I don't speak anymore.
'I will do what I have to do not in front of you, but in the shadows, as I have always done.'
The comments are not only more conservative than his own in December when he claimed Pogba 'needed to change team', but also than the words earlier this month of the France international's brother Mathias, who said the club would lose him for nothing in 2022.
'He has a year left on his contract. I don't know (if he will stay until then). I can't help you right now,' Mathias said.
'The only thing I can say is if United want money, they have to sell him now. That's the only thing I can say. If no, he'll go for free.
'I haven't heard anything about him renewing his contract.'
Solskjaer however remains optimistic that the Frenchman will choose to remain at United, stating last week: 'Speculation about Paul is always going to be there.
'We've got a good open dialogue with Paul, so what we talk about and how we see that situation remains between us of course.
'I'm just happy he's focused, he's playing really well and he's happy in himself and that's important. You can see Paul now enjoying playing football with a red shirt on.'
Pogba is currently out injured with a thigh injury but has been in excellent form in recent months, scoring winners at Burnley and Fulham and putting in some dominant displays.
