More drama between Bayern and Barca and a warning to Lewandowski

The Lewandowski saga rumbles on and the situation remains tense. The footballer is beginning to get tired of the indecision. He has threatened to take action if Bayern keep him in their squad and do not allow him to move to his desired destination, Barcelona.

Bayern have now sent an attack on Barcelona. Uli Hoeness, club president, spoke with 'NTV' and 'RTL' on Lewandowski's potential sale and he questioned Barcelona's ability to fund their potential purchase.

"Barcelona supposedly want to sign Lewandowski when they had a 1.3 billion debt six months ago. They have to be some kind of magician!", expressed Bayern's head man.

Uli Hoeness claimed that if this situation had occurred in the Bundesliga, the team who had ammounted such debt would not even be in a position to compete: "In Germany they would have already had to declare bankruptcy, but they're making offers worth millions for a Bayern player".

He also again referred to the expiry date on Lewandoski's contract at the club. "Our position is clear: Robert has a contract until summer 2023", he highlighted.

Hoeness made clear that Mane's signing was not made to replace Lewandowski. "We never thought about letting a player leave when we signed Mane. We did it to increase competition in our squad. We wanted to create a battle for places in our team. Mane's signing will give all the attacking a players a boost", he said.

The Lewandowski situation seems far from being solved. The Pole wants to leave and Barca are after him, but Bayern are refusing his exit to the Camp Nou.

The last offer from the Catalan capital was worth 35 million euros. According to 'Marca', this bid has been rejected by the Bavarian outfit. The board consider it an insufficient amount of money for their player and are happy to continue to dig their heels in.
