Motherwell have become the latest side to strike a sponsorship with a betting company, but like Huddersfield will run without their branding on their kits next season.
The Scottish side join the Terriers in teaming up with Paddy Power who have launched a 'Save our shirt' campaign which will see both teams line up without sponsors' logos on their kits next term.
According to Paddy Power, the campaign pledges to return the sacred football shirt back to the fans, and away from sponsors.
Motherwell confirmed the deal on their website and chairman Jim McMahon admitted the agreement with the bookmaker was the largest in their history and brought significant benefits to the club.
'We're delighted to be associated with Paddy Power's Save Our Shirt campaign,' McMahon said.
'This partnership represents our biggest shirt sponsorship in history, and the chance to team up with a renowned brand. It's a fantastic achievement by our commercial team to get them on board.
'Paddy Power are forward thinking and innovative, and it is a mark of how our fan-owned club is perceived in the world that we were able to attract such a high-calibre partner.
'We thank them for their support and look forward to working with them over the course of the season.'
Motherwell have already played in their unbranded home shirt in a thumping 4-0 win over Greenock Morton in the Betfred Cup on Friday.
The move comes just days after Huddersfield Town stunned many by releasing a highly unpopular hoax kit showing the bookmaker's name branded on the front as a giant sash.
In an effort to deceive suspicions over whether the kit was real, the Terriers then featured in the strip during a pre-season friendly at Rochdale.
Many pointed out that the Paddy Power branding broke FA regulations on the size of the sponsor's logo on a kit, with the bookmaker then taking the moral high ground.
They immediately claimed the shirt was a fake, which coincided with Huddersfield unveiling their real new home strip featuring just traditional blue and white stripes, the logo of kit manufacture Umbro and the team badge.
