Mourinho: Valencia not ready for Bournemouth despite Instagram workout

Jose Mourinho insists Antonio Valencia is not ready to face Bournemouth despite the Manchester United captain posting a video of his latest gruelling workout on Instagram.

United travel visit the south coast club on Saturday looking for their third win in four Premier League matches.

But Mourinho will be without Diogo Dalot, Marouane Fellaini and Valencia, with the latter recovering from a mouth problem.

Valencia hasn't featured for United since he liked an Instagram post calling for Mourinho to leave following their 0-0 Champions League draw with Valencia.

On Thursday, a video on Valencia's Instagram page showed the United captain lifting weights in the gym as he looks to force his way back into the team.

But Mourinho claims Valencia's 'funny' video does not prove he is ready to play, insisting: 'I watched something funny in Antonio's Instagram where he says "work, work, work" in the gym.

'He should say alone because he is injured and can't train with the team. It looked like he was working really hard – but without the ball and without the team. He's not ready.'

Mourinho has refuted claims that Valencia's recent omission from match-day squads is down to their falling out.

He insisted after their win over Everton on the weekend that Valencia has been recovering from surgery that has kept him out of training for the last week and a half.
