Mourinho has finally regained ownership of his name from the club - but they still hold one part of him for which he will have to wait a little longer.

For the past 20 years , the name José Mourinho has been owned by Chelsea Football Club Limited , registered under the UK IPO trademark since 4 April 2005 , when it was approaching its rst Premier League. The Blues have clearly used it for marketing purposes, from mugs and various objects, posters and even "the terms and conditions of the original trademark covered lingerie" if the club wanted.
According to the 'Daily Mail', however, ownership of the rights to the José Mourinho name will cease to be Chelsea's this Friday, when it completes its 20th year. On 4 October 2024, the London club received an email reminder about the expiry of the license. It has not been renewed, the English tabloid conrms that it will not be. The will is to turn the page , so that after 20 years José Mourinho will once again own the rights to his name , even if for his signature, understood on a graphic level, he will have to wait until November.
