Munir passes his medical ahead of Sevilla move

New Sevilla signing Munir El Haddadi has passed his medical and will now travel to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to sign his contract as he officially joins the club from Barcelona.

He is Sevilla's second signing of the January transfer window, following Maximilian Wober, and he has agreed to a four-and-a-half-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2023.

Munir's deal is interesting as he could have arrived for free in June, but Ernesto Valverde made it clear that he was not going to select the forward and encouraged Barcelona to sell him now, leading Sevilla to buy him for a little over one million euros; the Catalan side save money in not paying his salary and receiving a small fee, while Sevilla get their man ahead of the second half of the season.

Since the summer, Sevilla's sporting director Joaquin Caparros has been tracking Munir and he will now come in to compete with Andre Silva and Wissam Ben Yedder under the orders of Pablo Machin; the hope is that the 23-year-old may be ready to make his debut against Athletic Club on Sunday.

Wober, meanwhile, is not expected to land in Seville until Sunday morning, where he will compete his medical examinations while the team are in Bilbao.

The next target for Caparros is Napoli midfielder Marko Rog, who they are looking to bring in on a permanent deal.
