My favourite shirt: I loved the blue & white hoops, but black & red more stylish

I spent eight years at QPR and loved the blue and white hoops, but even more stylish was the away black and red hoops.

We weren’t the biggest club in the country, but sponsorship from adidas gave us credibility. We looked and felt the part.

My favourite memory in the black and red was twisting past Frank Sinclair to score against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. That was in April 1992, a few months before the Premier League started and changed everything.

In that first season we were London’s top club, finishing fifth.

I was fortunate enough to have 15 years playing for QPR, Charlton, Colchester, Grimsby, Peterborough and Bristol Rovers, but that shirt still stands out for me.
