Few gave Jurgen Klopp's side a chance in the second leg, but thanks to another famous Anfield night they were able to overturn the odds and reach a second straight final.
After the win, Liverpool part-owner and NBA superstar LeBron James posted a message to fans, and the Reds faithful were loving it.
He tweeted: “!!!!!!!!!!!!AMAZING NIGHT FOR THE REDS. WOW!! #YNWA” while quote-tweeting Liverpool's tweet confirming the final score.
Liverpool fans were quick to respond, with many inviting him to join them in Madrid for the final on June 1.
One wrote: “Get in there LeBron. We're going to Madrid make sure you are there. YNWA.”
“YNWA LeBron James!!” another posted.
One fan tweeted: “Game recognize game!!! #YNWA.”
“Yes LBJ you know the reds are bringing that title home,” one promised.
“Get to Madrid King, you'll have an absolute ball,” another claimed.
One more wrote: “We are all amazed. We stand with LeBron James to congratulate Liverpool FC for their extraordinary comeback. Well done.”
Another posted: “Not a Liverpool fan but wow.”
