Liverpool, at the back end of May, confirmed the signing of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

The deal is believed to have set the Reds back £36m.
Konate joined now former club Leipzig on a free transfer in the summer of 2017, from French outfit FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
And the 22-year-old went on to garner 95 appearances for Die Roten Bullen, including 21 during the 2020/21 season.
Konate is fast, powerful and good with the ball at his feet, and will no doubt prove himself to be a solid signing for a Liverpool side whose centre-back woes in 2020/21 played a key role in the club surrendering their league title to Manchester City in rather disappointing fashion.

However, we are actually yet to see Konate line out in a Liverpool shirt this term.
Of course, that is likely to change following the international break when Liverpool are set to have two games a week fairly often due to the Champions League and League Cup.
For the time being, however, Konate has been an unused sub in all three of the Reds’ league ties this campaign.
That has not stopped Liverpool defender Nat Phillips from offering his verdict on Liverpool’s only signing of the summer though.
Phillips, who of course trains with Konate and played with him during pre-season, stated that the Frenchman has slotted in perfectly and is a top, top player:
