Liverpool have released stunning new pictures after officially moving into their new £50million state-of-the-art Kirkby training ground following their emotional farewell from Melwood.

Ahead of their Premier League encounter against Leicester at Anfield on Sunday evening, fans have been given a fascinating insight into what the new training complex looks like at the home of the reigning champions.

The switch saw Liverpool depart their historic Melwood base, where the first-team had been based for 70 years, and move in where the current academy train.

At their new headquarters, Liverpool have gone beyond football by building courts for beach soccer, beach volleyball, tennis and paddle tennis  which Jurgen Klopp plays every day with his assistant Pep Lijnders.

Meanwhile, their new gym is three times the size as the one they have left behind at Melwood, and the medical area is twice the size. There is also far more space outdoors.

The project began 722 days ago and was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Liverpool initially considered staying at Melwood for the rest of the season.

However, because the project at Kirkby was so close to completion in March, they decided to press ahead and move during the middle of the season.

Everybody, including the playing squad and members of staff, will be on site by the end of the week following the conclusion of the international break.
