Newcastle and Tottenham fans have called for Moussa Sissoko to be banned after a stamp on Kenedy during the side's Premier League game on Saturday.

Footage showed the French midfielder treading on the back of Kenedy's leg in his side's 2-1 win at St James' Park, which went unpunished by Martin Atkinson.

Newcastle fans were  outraged by the incident, and called for former Sissoko to be handed a lengthy suspension.

But several Spurs fans also took to social media to jokingly back the calls, suggesting an even lengthier ban for the 28-year-old.

'Agree with this I say give Sissoko a lifetime ban, @ FA,' one wrote.

'Ban him now, preferably until his contract ends,' said another.

Sissoko remains a divisive figure among Tottenham fans after his £30m from Saturday's opponents Newcastle in 2016.

He played the full 90 minutes minutes on his return to St James' as Mauricio Pochettino's men got the new campaign off to the perfect start.

Tottenham won Saturday's game thanks to goals from Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli.
