Michael Owen's new autobiography will not be stocked at the world's largest sports book shop in Newcastle following extracts that were published where he takes aim at the club.
Owen has outlined his regret over his move from Real Madrid to Newcastle, speaking of how he wanted to rejoin Liverpool and adding that he doesn't consider Newcastle a big club and failed to bond with supporters.
Book shop The Back Page wrote on Twitter on Wednesday: 'Breaking News; The Back Page, Newcastle which celebrates its 16th Birthday in November would like to announce that after stocking every football book published, will not be selling Michael Owens (sic) latest book.
'This is the first book we have ever totally refused to stock.'
Their tweet was completed with a picture of Owen's infamous 2014 Movember effort.
Owen has also criticised Newcastle legend Alan Shearer in parts of his book and the two argued on Twitter on Tuesday, with Owen claiming Shearer once tried to force a move to Liverpool.
