Nagelsmann's agent makes Boehly claim

Julian Nagelsmann was Chelsea's first choice candidate to become their next manager, according to his agent.

The German become one of the early favourites to replace Graham Potter in March after his sudden Bayern Munich exit. However, Nagelsmann reportedly pulled out of the race, leaving Mauricio Pochettino as Todd Boehly's preference for the job.

Speaking on Bild's podcast Phrasenmaher, he said: "I can confirm that Chelsea were quick to call [after Nagelsmann left Munich]. There were some phone conversations.

"It was the right decision not to go there. It's a club in troubled waters at the moment. And their transfer policy, spending a few hundred millions euros, has raised expectations that need to be met. There were also some other issues.

"He was their number one [choice], that was our information. I believe it would have happened if he had wanted it."

Man United tipped to seal transfer

Former Premier League striker Louis Saha has tipped Manchester United to beat Chelsea to the signing of Tammy Abraham.

Many reports have linked Abraham with a return to the Premier League this summer, with Reece James doing his best to encourage the frontman back to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are not the only club on the lookout for a new striker this summer, with Manchester United also keen. Both side have been linked with the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, while Abraham could be another to add to the list now.

Speaking to OLBG, he said: "Tammy Abraham will be great for Manchester United. His work rate is outstanding also. He could be an ideal replacement for Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford."

Newcastle consider Felix move

Newcastle are monitoring Joao Felix's situation at Chelsea and are considering a move for the forward if they seal a place in the Champions League.

The Portuguese is said to be keen on staying in the Premier League beyond this season. Atletico Madrid are said to be demanding £87m for his services, a fee that Chelsea may pass up.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Eddie Howe's men are eyeing up the forward for their return to the Champions League.
