Newcastle United have reportedly made an approach for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey.
The 22-year-old is said to be catching the attention of clubs in both England and Europe as Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich has also 'made their admiration for Ramsey clear'.
This is according the The Athletic, with the report stating that Aston Villa must raise funds by the end of June.
However, the report continues to state that as Ramsey has established himself as a key player, a saye would 'ideally not be a consideration'.
Despite this, interested sides believe that offers of over £50 million would be taken under consideration for the midfielder.
Newcastle are keen to bring in reinforcements in the middle of the pitch, having seen summer signing Sandro Tonali handed a 10-month ban over illegal betting.
A deal for Ramsey may be a tricky one to do with just days left of the winter transfer window, however.
The Athletic finalise by revealing that there are other ways in which Aston Villa could raise money to stay compliant with profit and sustainability rules if they do not wish to sell their star.
One way for this could be through the sale of Chelsea-linked Jhon Duran, with the report continuing to reveal the Blues' further interest.
Mauricio Pochettino's side are said to be admirers of the 20-year-old and have discussed a possible deal.
Duran is currently injured and this could complicate any potential deal, but not rule out a transfer as Chelsea see him as a talent for the future.
