Newcastle quartet involved in ugly spat with fan on train after Arsenal defeat

Danny Rose was one of the players who opted to travel back up north from London by rail after featuring in Newcastle's disappointing loss at the Emirates on Sunday.

Four Newcastle stars including Danny Rose were involved in an ugly spat with a Geordie fan after choosing to get the train home from their hammering at Arsenal.

The club have insisted that Rose, Allan Saint-Maximin, Nabil Bentaleb and Christian Atsu did nothing wrong after a video emerged of a minor flash-point on a train from Kings Cross.

The players opted not to fly home after a bumpy journey to London on United's private charter, and were given the option of rail travel instead.

But while trying to have a low key journey home, fed up at losing 4-0 at the Emirates, they were recognised by fans.

One fan dished out some unflattering thoughts on their performance, which was filmed by his friend, prompting Rose to stand up for himself verbally.

The fans were asked to leave the area by the train crew.

The row has been played down by Newcastle, and the players were in training on Monday morning and won't face any consequences from boss Bruce.

The players had already posed for pictures and chatted with several fans before the spat.
