Newcastle winger Matt Ritchie has undergone a second operation on his ankle and will be sidelined until the New Year.
Sportsmail can reveal that the 30-year-old was advised by his specialist that more surgery was required earlier this week.
Ritchie underwent the operation on Tuesday and boss Steve Bruce will be without the 30-year-old until at least January.
He has been absent since August after injuring his ankle in a challenge with Leicester's Hamza Choudhury.
