Neymar & Suarez lead Ballon d'Or snubbed XI as Robertson & Kante included

Ronaldo, Messi and Van Dijk head the shortlist for the 2019 Ballon d'Or award, but what about these stars who didn't make it?

This year's Ballon d'Or award might be interesting as Van Dijk stages his unlikely bid to be the second one to take away the away from Ronaldo and Messi's dominance, but what about those who didn't make it?

The 30-man shortlist of nominees - which you can see in full here - includes some names you'd expect and some you wouldn't, but there have certainly been some eyebrows raised at names who weren't included.

Apparently this XI aren't good enough to be considered among the world's best, but we think they'd give anyone a game.

Jan Oblak (Atletico)

Jan Oblak won the 2018-19 Zamora Trophy (Best goalkeeper of La Liga) for the fourth consecutive season with only 27 goals conceded in his 37 appearances.

The goalkeepers are not the favourites for the Ballon d'Or all the time but Oblak should have a spot considering his great performance.

Dani Alves (San Paulo)

Dani Alves has won the astonishing 43rd trophy of his career after captaining Brazil to victory over Peru in the Copa America final.

The Brazil full-back has proved that he still deserves a position in a European club and also in the nominees for the Ballon d'Or.

Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

Alves is joined by his former Barcelona partner Pique, who can still cut it at the top level at the age of the 32.

Pique, who helped Barcelona reclaim the La Liga title and reach the semi-final in Champions League, still be regarded as one of the top defenders in the world.

Aymeric Laporte (Man City)

Guardiola finally got his dream defender after Laporte arrived and he hasn't been letting the manager down since January of 2018.

The French defender has won 4 trophies with Man City in 2019, but he will be ruled out for the rest of this year.

Andrew Robertson (Liverpool)

The current left-back doesn't have his name on the list, which might be the biggest mistake made by France Football.

Robertson has spent a tremendous season with Liverpool winning the Champions League and 13 assists in the whole 18-19 season.

Casemiro (Real Madrid)

Casemiro was named as 'the most irreplaceable player' for Real Madrid, the club's season would surely have been even worse without him.

At Brazil national team, Casemiro helped Seleção to win the Copa América. He scored his national team maiden goal in the Competiton.

N'Golo Kante (Chelsea)

N'Golo Kante has been one of the most terrific multifunctional midfielders, especially after the new season starts.

Under his cover in midfield, Chelsea could go through all the test to win the UEL Cup. The Frenchman was also included in 2018 UEFA Team of the Year & 2018/19 UEL Squad of the Season.

Joshua Kimmich (Bayern)

As hopeful starlet for both Germany & Bayern, Joshua Kimmich has been transformed from full-back to midfielder at which position he did a fantastic job to help Bayern win the 7th consecutive Bundesliga champion.

He has reached the 100-cap milestone for Bayern in Feb 2019.

Neymar (PSG)

Neymar scored 23 goals and sent 13 assists for PSG in 28 games last season, but such a great performance couldn't find himself a room on the 30-man list.

The main reason for this could be that he didn't appear in enough games. The Brazilian was suffering from injury several times last season. And the Barca transfer saga could be another factor that influences him.

Luis Suarez (Barcelona)

From 13th last year with 17 points (5 more than Courtois), Suarez has tumbled all the way off the 30-man list this time around.

His poor performance in Champions League last season might be a key reason for that, but he's still started this season with 7 goals in 9 games in all competitions.

Jadon Sancho (Dortmund)

13 goals and 19 assists for a 19-year-old talent, Ballon d'Or should really consider the starlet to be included in the nominees.

Being nominated for the Kopa Trophy which was awarded for U21 player will be a compensation for him.
