The Chilean striker was in the orbit of the MLS team if they failed to sign Chicharito from Sevilla, but for now he will remain in America this semester.
Javier Hernandez will play with LA Galaxy this season but if the Mexican striker had decided to keep playing in Europe for Sevilla, the team would’ve gone for Nicolas Castillo from America. According to the LA Times, the Chilean striker had a conversation with people from Galaxy but nothing official.
According the the LA Times, Galaxy’s first option was always Chicharito but just in case the negotiations didn’t go as planned, they would try to sign Nicolas Castillo because the actual head coach, Guillermo Barros Schelotto had given his approval to go for the Chilean striker.
It was Sevilla’s coach, Julen Lopetegui, who confirmed that Javie Hernandez will be playing in the MLS this season. Now Galaxy should confirm the signing of the 31-year-old striker and he should be presented this week with the team.
