No Juve players in Italy XI for the first time in 20 years

For the first time in 20 years, there are no Juventus players in the starting XI of a competitive Italy match.

CT Roberto Mancini tests out an experimental formation, changing nine of the 10 outfield players who featured against Poland on Friday.

There are representatives from Milan, Roma, Torino, Lazio, Fiorentina, SPAL, Genoa and Chelsea.

It’s the first time that Italy have started an official match without any Juventus players since June 17 1998, a 3-0 victory over Cameroon at the World Cup in France.

Curiously, there is one Juventus player starting in Lisbon this evening, but he is wearing the Portugal jersey: full-back Joao Cancelo.
