Nottingham Forest have a £30million-plus deal in place with PSV Eindhoven for midfielder Ibrahim Sangare once Brennan Johnson's move to Tottenham is agreed.
Tottenham are edging closer to landing Johnson, one of Ange Postecoglou's priority targets this summer, and Forest have had to be proactive in the background readying a replacement.
Boss Steve Cooper is a big admirer of the Ivory Coast international midfielder and has been on Forest's radar for the best part of 12 months.
Sangare has four years remaining on his current contract at PSV and so a deal north of £30m has been struck.
Sangare joined PSV from Toulouse in 2020 and has gone on to make 140 appearances for the Dutch club, while he has scored 15 goals and has provided ten assists.
So far in this transfer window Forest have signed Ola Aina, Anthony Elanga and Matt Turner, while Chris Wood made his loan move from Newcastle permanent.
Forest have also brought in Gonzalo Montiel and Andrey Santos on loan.
