Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba left supporters squirming after picking up a gruesome injury in the 2-1 win over Derby.

Forest were victorious in the East Midlands derby thanks to goals from Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson.

But it was Samba who left the game as one of the main talking points after he played the second-half with a nasty looking head injury.

The 27-year-old collided with Derby's Tom Lawrence towards the end of the first-half and required treatment for several minutes. The Sky cameras revealed he had an egg shaped lump on his forehead.

Samba looked to be in a lot of pain as he headed towards the tunnel for the interval. But he was allowed to continue as he emerged the second-half with a bandage wrapped around his head.

Fans took it to Twitter to give their reaction. One Tweeted: 'Brice Samba can’t carry on with that on his head.'

Another fan added: 'Brice Samba has THE worst head bump I've ever seen in a football match.'

Samba got in on the act himself. He Tweeted: Been a long time I didn't search my name in here, always good fun. Enjoy your weekend', followed by a laugh, heart and kiss emojis.

Goal from Grabban and Johnson gave Forest a comfortable lead but Lawrence scored from the penalty spot to give Wayne Rooney's side hope with two minutes remaining on the clock.

But the win for Forest was all but sealed when Ravel Morrison was shown a red for a late challenge on Philip Zinckernagel seven minutes into injury time.
