Nottingham Forest have made a £10million bid for Middlesbrough winger Marcus Tavernier.

The 23-year-old also has an offer on the table from Premier League rivals Bournemouth and both clubs are waiting on Boro.

Tavernier made 48 appearances for Boro last season and scored five goals as well as providing five assists.

Forest have told 29-year-old winger Joe Lolley he is no longer in their plans and Tavernier would be viewed as a younger replacement.

The ex-England U20 international, brother of Rangers captain James, can play on both flanks or behind the striker.

Forest last week confirmed the signing of Burnley goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey on a free and are continuing talks with Huddersfield for £10m-rated midfielder Lewis O'Brien and his teammate Harry Toffolo.

They also maintain an interest in Manchester United midfielder James Garner and Everton target Morgan Gibbs-White of Wolves.

Wolfsburg's Belgian midfielder Aster Vranckx is another who has attracted their attention, as well as that of Everton.

Forest have confirmed Lewis Grabban has left the club.
