AFC Bournemouth is delighted to announce the signing of talented full-back Álex Jiménez on an initial loan deal from AC Milan.
The 20-year-old defender, regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in European football, joins the Cherries with 34 appearances under his belt in all competitions for Milan.
Jiménez joined the Serie A giants in 2023, coming from Real Madrid’s famed academy, where he spent ten years developing between 2012 and 2022.
He is capped with Spain at under-15, under-17 and under-19 level, and will link up with the under-21 side in the forthcoming international break.
After signing for the club, AFC Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto, spoke with afcb.co.uk: “Álex is a highly regarded young player who has already shown great promise at AC Milan.
“We are delighted to bring a player with such talent into the club and we believe he will be a strong addition to our squad. We’re looking forward to working with him once he returns from international duty with Spain.”
Jiménez also commented: "I’m very happy. I'm excited about this project and that they've welcomed me so well. I can't wait to start training with the team and playing with the team.
"It has always been one of my dreams to play in the Premier League and as long as I can fulfill a dream, I will be happy."
Jiménez joins Adrien Truffert, Đorđe Petrovic, Bafode Diakite, Ben Gannon-Doak and Amine Adli as summer recruits, while Junior Kroupi is also with the squad for his first full season.
