Tottenham have confirmed they have agreed to sign higly-rated teenage defender Luka Vuskovic from Hajduk Split - but the 16-year-old won't join the club until 2025.

Spurs had been linked with the Croatian for many weeks - with Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool also rumoured to have held interest in the player, who caught attention after helping Hajduk win the Croatian Cup last season.

He also made his debut for the club last year aged 15 and became their youngest-ever goalscorer after finding the net just days after his 16th birthday.

Announcing his arrival, Tottenham revealed he had signed a five year deal that would kick off in two years time.

'We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement for Luka Vuskovic to join the Club in 2025 from Hajduk Split, in a deal which will run until 2030,' they said in a statement.

Vuskovic captained the Hajduk U19 team to the final of the UEFA Youth League last season alongside his first team commitments.

Last week Fabrizio Romano reported that Vuskovic was only interested in joining Spurs despite interest from five top flight clubs.

While he won't be linking up with boss Ange Postecoglou any time soon, he will hope to become the next defender to be shining under the Australian's leadership.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, left-back Destiny Udogie and central defender Micky Van de Ven have all impressed in the first weeks of their debut campaigns in the Premier League.
