Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler has undergone surgery on his right knee.
The operation, which was conducted by the renowned Manuel Leyes and took place in Madrid as reported by The Athletic, was a success.
The Athletic previously reported that the club made the decision for the 18-year-old to have surgery after several meetings where all the data and possibilities had been analysed.
Guler, who signed for Madrid from Fenerbache, will be out for at least one month, expecting to be back in the best case scenario after the international break in September.
The teenager sustained the knee injury in training during Madrid’s U.S. pre-season tour and has not been able to train with the first-team since July 21. He did not feature in any of his side’s four pre-season games.
Madrid are next in action against Almeria on Saturday after they began their La Liga season with a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao last Saturday.
