Real Madrid have released a medical report announcing that attacker Karim Benzema has been suffering from muscle fatigue in his left thigh, a minor physical problem that will keep him out of the game against Sevilla on Saturday.
Benzema had to leave Friday’s practice with this minor problem, but he made the roster anyway. However, he was still in pain this Saturday morning and the player himself, along with the coaching and medical staff have decided to rule him out to avoid a serious injury.
Rodrygo will replace Benzema in the starting line-up by playing in the middle of the attack, a position where he managed to shine in the last Madrid Derby against Atletico. If he can keep it up, Real Madrid could do just fine without Benzema. Valverde will be deployed on the right side of the defense line, which should help Tchouameni, Kroos and Modric.
