Chelsea midfielder Lavia has been voted Premier League Player of the Week for Matchweek 9. Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Manchester United, and he delivered a dominant performance in midfield.

The Belgian excelled both with and without the ball, making 23 defensive actions, including 14 ball recoveries. He also completed 16 line-breaking passes and won 78% of his duels.

Lavia showcased his defensive and creative qualities in one superb sequence, first dispossessing Manchester United's Bryan Mbeumo, then quickly passing to teammate Morgan Rogers, who went on to score a brilliant solo goal.

Lavia received 35% of the vote from Premier League fans, becoming the third Chelsea player to win the award this season, following teammates Cole Palmer (Matchweek 1) and Henderson (Matchweek 6).

The other nominees this week were Everton's Dewsbury-Hall, Hull City striker McBurnie, Arsenal's Rice, Brighton & Hove Albion defender Jan Paul van Hecke, and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
