OFFICIAL: Former England star Peter Crouch retires from professional football

Former England & Liverpool star Peter Crouch, 38, announces his retirement from professional football after 21 years and over 600 matches as a professional.

Crouch said on his Twitter: "After a lot of deliberation this summer I have decided to retire from football ! 

"Our wonderful game has given me everything. I’m so thankful to everyone who helped me get there and to help me stay there for so long.

"If you told me at 17 I'd play in World Cups, get to a champions league final, win the FA cup and get 100 Premier League goals I would have avoided you at all costs. 

"It's been an absolute dream come true"

Crouch has played for Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Norwich City, Southampton, Stoke City, Burnley, Dulwich Hamlet & IFK Hassleholm.

He made 735 appearances for 11 clubs and scored 205 goals. For England, he completed 42 caps and scored 22 goals.
