OFFICIAL: Man Utd confirm 5 new squad numbers as Hojlund wears No.11 & Garnacho 17
Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir and defensive pair Sergio Reguilon and Jonny Evans signed on deadline day, alongside Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, bolstering Erik ten Hag's squad for his second season at the helm.
Rasmus has been given the no.11 shirt for his inaugural campaign at United, a number that he also wears for Denmark. At club level, Hojlund has never worn the 11 in senior football, only ever donning the shirt during his time with FC Copenhagen's Under-19s.
Garnacho has worn the no.49 since his first full season in Reds' first-team last term, after making his debut in 2022 with 75 on his back. This season, however, the Argentina international will become the tenth player to wear the no.17 shirt for United.
Up until this summer, it had been occupied for five years by Brazilian midfielder Fred, who departed for Fenerbahce in August, and the 17 has previously been worn by the likes of Nani, Daley Blind and legendary United striker Andy Cole, for a brief period.
Altay wore the no.1 for Fenerbahce from the 2020/21 season up until he departed the Turkish club and has also worn it for his national team on occasion too. He joins the likes United greats David De Gea, Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar - his childhood idol - in donning the number for United.
Reguilon, who arrived on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for 2023/24, has been given no.15. The Spain full-back has never worn this number throughout his career but now takes the shirt that was displayed by Marcel Sabitzer during his loan for the second half of last season.
After signing his one-year deal at the club, Evans will wear no.35. The defender wore this number when he was coming through United's Academy and wore no.4, no.23 and no.6 during his previous stint in the first-team between 2007 and 2014.
The squad number of our final deadline-day signing Amrabat will be revealed once his registration is completed following his loan move from Fiorentina.
