Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says he is 'disappointed' Kyle Lafferty has ruled himself out of the upcoming international fixtures.

Lafferty will miss the Nations League games against Austria and Bosnia, and will deal with the Rangers striker after the international break.

Rangers striker, Kyle Lafferty, has ruled himself out of Northern Ireland's upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Austria and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

'Kyle Lafferty called me late on Sunday night to tell me that he would not be travelling on Monday to join up with the Northern Ireland squad as expected,' said O'Neill.

'I am disappointed that he has ruled himself out of the two games but our focus is on the players who are with us and I will address this situation after the international period.'

Lafferty has won 68 international caps since his debut in 2006, scoring 20 goals for his country.

This tally puts him second on the country's all-time list, behind David Healy who totalled 36 strikes in 95 games.
