Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard insists the team are still "hungry" for success despite slipping behind Liverpool in the title race - and believes the squad have enough quality if they fail to add a new signing this month.
The Gunners trail the Reds by six points at the top of the Premier League after their frustrating 2-2 draw at home to Aston Villa on Saturday, which saw Mikel Arteta's men squander a 2-0 lead.
Liverpool, meanwhile, secured a last-gasp 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest and are favourites to clinch their first Premier League title since 2020.
Arsenal have also been knocked out of the FA Cup in recent weeks, while they are 2-0 down to Newcastle on aggregate ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-finals, but bounced back with a 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.
Odegaard, who scored the third goal against the Croatian side, has claimed the team are undeterred and still have hunger despite suffering a few disappointments. It comes amid an injury crisis that has wiped out a number of their key players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
"Results always influence a little bit the mood but I think it's been good," he said after their Champions League win. "Everyone just wants to get better. Every time we drop points everyone comes in the next day even more hungry and even more ready to go again. I think that's the mentality, always one more, always got to be better and that's good to see."
The injuries have prompted fans to call for new reinforcements - especially up front after losing Saka, Jesus and youngster Ethan Nwaneri in recent weeks. Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko are two players who have been linked with a move, but Odegaard feels the squad have enough talent to get by even if no signings arrive.
The Gunners managed to get Nwaneri and defender Riccardo Calafiori back into the matchday squad for their win over Zagreb and the Norwegian playmaker insists there is reason for optimism.
He added: "I think with the injuries we've been a little bit short but you look at the team we have so much quality so if we can keep everyone fit then that's the main thing and we have to focus on the players that are here. [Against Zagreb] we all did well."
Arteta reserved special praise for Odegaard after the game, hailing his "angry" celebration after a difficult season that seen him score just once in the Premier League and fail to score in Europe.
"His first goal [and] he really needed that," the Spainard said. "You could tell by the way he celebrated that he had an anger and a desire to do it, so overall a really positive night."
